GFC has been providing manufacturers with their production requirements of fasteners and other essential components since our founding in 1952.

For over 50 years GFC has been evolving to meet our customers' needs. Our products have changed as well as the services we provide. GFC was one of the early pioneers of VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) programs, adding value to the product with just in time inventory, in-plant vendor cribs, and line side delivery services.

Over half of our items are specifically engineered for a customer’s unique application. And, with the value of our VMI services, customers have come to rely on us to supply many components beyond the traditional fastener category. Today, we supply our customers’ needs for any number of components used in their product including items like labels, stampings, fittings, hoses, and even kit bags that are shipped with the product.

Our technical support is second to none in the industry with professional engineering services, laboratory testing and part validation, along with a full service A2LA* accredited quality control department.

As customers expanded and rationalized their manufacturing sites, GFC has also grown with them. Today, our wholly owned GFC de Mexico provides customers in the Mexican market with the same products and services. For those customers with operations in China we have a joint venture partner with seven strategic distribution centers in the key manufacturing centers of China.

General Fasteners Company is a privately held Michigan corporation. Our owners have their roots in the fastener industry with most of their holdings associated with the manufacture of fasteners. This family of companies includes fastener manufacturing, stampings, powder metal parts, sorting equipment, steel supply, plating, as well as heat-treating and other processes.
