Facility Re-Alignment

As part of our continuous improvement activities GFC routinely evaluates scenarios that may lead to enhanced customer service while providing improved efficiencies and a cost benefit.

During this decade our operations group has been successful in achieving these goals by rationalizing the footprint of our distribution network. These adjustments resulted from changing market conditions, and new technologies that afford GFC greater efficiencies and flexibility.

A recent evaluation has identified an opportunity to eliminate redundancy in our operations while enhancing the service we provide to our customers. As a result of this study, we have elected to close our Richmond, Indiana facility effective November 30, 2009.

Customers supplied from the Richmond facility will soon be notified of their new servicing location. The affected accounts will be shipped from one of our recently expanded facilities in Mishawaka, Indiana; Minster, Ohio; Frankfort, Kentucky; or our master distribution center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

We are confident this re-alignment will meet the criteria for continuous improvement with enhanced customer service and greater productivity.
